Obituary of Kevin Boehm

Kevin Frank Boehm, age 54, died suddenly of a heart attack at home in Nightingale, Alberta on December 31, 2018. Kevin has gone to be with his sister Juliette, who passed away just over a year ago, and his mother, whom he lost 13 years ago. Kevin will be forever missed by his cherished wife Lorna and three children Gillian, Marah, and Graham. He will also be missed by his father, Peter, his sister, Rosanne, his brother, Andre, his brother-in-law, Bill, in-laws George and Betty Horacki, sister-in-law Lorelei Horacki, sister-in-law Julie (Rocco) Primavera, sister-in-law Jacinta (Andrew) Diggins, brother-in-law Michael (Sarah) Horacki, and many nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends. Kevin will also be missed by his animal family: Ramsay, Juniper, Dakota, Daisy, Stampy, Netty, and Harriet.

Kevin was an extraordinary man who can never be captured in a few paragraphs. He was the quiet, steadfast person that everyone around him relied on, and who never let anyone down. He seemed to have boundless knowledge about everything and so many talents. He built his family's home in Strathmore with his own two hands. He loved a good conversation – the kind that are meaningful and go on for hours. He loved fly fishing and camping. He was tremendously proud of his three wonderful children, whom he loved more than anything. He had an infectious laugh and an enormous smile that we can never forget.

He had questionable taste in music, and was known to steal other people’s French fries, so he wasn’t perfect – but nearly so. Kevin, our hearts are broken.

Anyone whose life Kevin touched is welcome to attend our celebration of his life and farewell on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Hope Community Covenant Church (245 Brent Blvd, Strathmore, AB) at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kevin’s favorite community radio station, CKUA (www.ckua.com/support/), which he was a constant and ardent supporter of, or to the Calgary SPCA (4455 110 Ave SE, Calgary, AB T2C 2T7 or www.calgaryhumane.ca).
