Obituary of Marcia Anne Huseby

HUSEBY, Marcia Ann (nee Rasmussen)
June 23, 1957 – March 5, 2019

The family is saddened to let you know that Marcia passed away March 5, 2019. She grew up on the family farm in Standard, Alberta, attending Standard School and Nazareth Lutheran Church. In keeping with her love of animals, she attended the University of Calgary before becoming a Zookeeper at the Calgary Zoo. Highlights were her times with the elephants, gorillas, and the pandas in 1988. During this time, she also did some travelling to see them in their natural habitats. She became a Park Ranger before marrying Rick Huseby and bringing their children, Sean and Brittany, into their life. As a young mom, Marcia with Sean and Brittany, loved being on their acreage in Standard with their Morgan horses, cats, and dogs. In November, Marcia had extensive heart surgery and was doing well in her recovery. She is now watching over her family with her mom and dad, Gerda and Stanley. Her bubbly cheerfulness will be missed. A private memorial service will be held to celebrate Marcia's life.
