Obituary of Harold Vernon Dawe

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Harold Dawe, in Strathmore. Harold was born in Long Pond, Newfoundland. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alma, and loving daughter Beverley Devetten (Frank). He was a loving grandfather to Randy Simpson (Cherylyn) and Trevor Simpson (Carley); and special Grampy to great-grandchildren Silas, Nixon, Quinn, and Veronica Simpson. Harold was also survived by his older brother, Jim, in Sarnia, Ontario and will be missed at family dinners by Frank’s children, Jennifer (Randall), Neil (Sarah), Eric (Lindsay), and Jeff (Tara). He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Hall #10 at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that there be no flowers but rather donations made directly to the Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund (Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion, Box 2141, Strathmore, AB, T1P 1K1, Attn: Poppy Fund).
