Obituary of Dorothy Louise Hood

Dorothy is finally at rest. She was born August 27, 1933 and passed September 2, 2019. We will continue to hold her close within.

Dorothy was the fourth child of Gustav and Lydia Bittner and was born in Gerald Saskatchewan. She was a very outgoing and caring person that always loved to laugh. Dorothy had a special place in her heart, large enough to fit all of her family, friends and students. In her spare time Dorothy square danced, bowled, did needlework and hand quilting, played bridge and crib with the Happy Gang and Strathmore Legion, and spent many hours doing volunteer work.

She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She became a teacher who taught in many one room school houses all over Saskatchewan and eventually residing and teaching in Calgary, Alberta.

Dorothy is pre-deceased by her husband Richard Thomas Hood and daughter Judith Lea Hood. She is  survived by her children Terry Yvonne Daniels (Tom), Richard Allan Hood, Douglas Kent Hood (Cindy). As well by three grand-children, Matthew Hood (Jessica), Michael Hood (Lisa), and Tiegan Daniels (Kevin) as well as a great-grandchild Corbin Hood.
