We were very saddened to find out that Terry has passed away. We were longtime patients of his at his clinic in Strathmore. We only found out because we were going to stop there on our way from Calgary back to Saskatchewan where we live. We just wanted to tell you that is how much we appreciated him. Very sorry to hear of your loss.

For years I have been planning to visit Terry and our last time together was in Canmore in the early 1980's. I have many fond memories as good friends in public school at Lorne Haselton and are many days playing together at his house, as we lived 2 doors down the street, with his mother making various treats for us, sponge toffee caramelized popcorn. I was in the midst of planning our belated 50 year high school reunion and was hoping to reconnect and to call Terry so as to continue that friendship that had a 40 year hiatus. I am sorry and saddened that we never had a chance to meet again and rekindle that friendship. I am terribly sorry for your loss, he was a special person.

Our dear friend Terry, we still can’t believe you’re gone. The world seems emptier without your infectious laughter and your incredible kindness. We feel so blessed to have called you our friend, and we are forever grateful for the precious time we spent together. One of our favourite times was visiting wineries in California and driving between Sonoma and Napa via back roads, stopping at Dean & Delucas to get delicious and decadent appetizers that we shared by the pool side with our lovely selection of wines. It continues to be one of our favourite lifelong memories with you and Clare! You will be forever in our hearts! ❤️

It is with heavy hearts that we offer our deepest condolences to Clare, Anne and all of Terry’s relatives and families.
This is a very difficult time for all of you. Please know that we share in your grief, as we all bid farewell to Terry.
I was a lifelong patient of Terry’s, and remember the early days very well, when Terry was commuting between Strathmore and Canmore to establish his Chiropractic career.
Without Terry’s willingness to work on my neck and spine (after a severe accident in 1979), I’m certain I would not have had the luxury of a lifetime free from debilitating pain.
Terry was always on the cutting edge of emerging methods and technologies, which he willingly advocated in order to help his patients.
Terry often spoke of his mom back in Saskatchewan and proudly explained how his parents had one of the biggest supplement stores of their time. It was not hard to understand the source of Terry’s profound interest in supplemental nutrition.
After knowing Terry for somewhere around 40 years, our friendship grew easily. We enjoyed many discussions on current events, often forgetting about the time which occasionally led to a small backlog of patients in the front office.
Not only did Terry care for his patients, he was also known to lend a hand to help an animal in distress from time to time. He was indeed a very caring person.
I will miss being able to just stop in and see Terry. He was a solid member of a large community and his helping hands and caring spirit will live on in our hearts forever.
Thanks for everything Terry.

I’ve known Terry since before I could walk. He was always a figure of stature to myself as a toddler and even on into childhood. But he would always ask me insightful questions as a child, when most people would just ask the banal ones. Some of the most significant memories I have of him are him pointing out the Calgary tower and its torch out the window of his house (big wow moment to a kid). Also, when we all went to see the first Harry Potter movie on a whim. It was a pretty late night showing, and I didn’t even know movies were shown that late when I was that age. The shock and happiness at being told that it wasn’t bed time, but rather that we were going to see HARRY POTTER! (I think it was a midnight showing?)
I always admired his way with dogs, and still hope to emulate that with a dog of my own one day. I always meant to ask him for more details about that.
Clare, you have my deepest condolences and I hope that you find only joy and succour in your memories of each other.

I have known Dr. T for 40 plus years and over those 40 years we became very good friends and a huge support to myself and my entire family from just chatting to our health and well being. He was a great support in so many ways and whenever I needed a pick me up he was there. The world lost an a incredible man and will be missed by many…Goodbye my Friend.

Dear Claire,
We are so sorry for your loss, I cannot say anymore than everyone else has about Terry. Truly a gifted health practitioner. To know him was to love him. and finally meeting you that day in the office realizing we had met already is a fun memory. I am so so very sorry that you must suffer this loss.
When Bill and I heard the news (almost immediately by the way) I was scared. Just scared and shocked to the core. And days later profound sadness. How could someone who instructed us all on every level of being healthy and pain free just be gone? He was “the guru” so healthy energetic and super funny. He fixed things on my husband and myself that were supposedly permanent conditions. Like so many have said already he always dug deep in the information available to him to find a solution. And so generous with his knowledge. He was a friend to so many and maybe Terry would laugh and agree is I say “What the h are we going to do now Mr.man with all the answers?”

We Met Terry in 2000 when he and Clare moved onto their acreage. We immediately became friends, and considered ourselves lucky to have such great neighbors.
We believe Terry missed his calling. He was happiest when he brought out his best wine or beer and then put the apron on to cook a gourmet meal, and of course we were always pleased to indulge him.
He was kind to all the animals that were rescued there. A full stomach and warm bed were thereafter guaranteed. His dogs were taken on the annual camping trips to the mountains, while the cats stayed home quite pleased they were gone. All were winners of the pet lottery.
His intelligence and curiosity continuously surprised us. Sitting around the firepit drinking homemade beer while Terry nursed his Stella Artois he would dispense some of this knowledge and wisdom, and often the next day ( only after some fact checking hoping he was wrong ), I realized how smart he was. Sadly, by his passing, he taught us how fleeting and tenuous life is and how valuable lost friendships are. We know the Saints will be truly wined, dined and entertained in your presence Terry. Godspeed on your journey. We miss you.

Wow that’s an understatement… have not been in Terry’s life for a few decades but that being said I have a lot of memories of us heading up to Sunshine for some riding and lots of fun. Many great dinners with Terry and of course Clare. We had a lot of fun and were business partners in the cellular arena at one point and again Clare was also an active partner and have great love for both.
Not sure of the reasons for Terry’s demise but whatever way to soon. I live in Victoria now but I will ride the devide again for respect to a wonderful person. By T.

We have so many fond memories of Terry. One that always comes to mind is the 4 of us careening up the mountains to Canmore going about a billion miles an hour in Terry’s BMW. It was the first time we heard the Dire Straits album “Making Movies” and Clare had that blaring as we sped through the dark. I met Terry when first moved to Strathmore in 1985, he became someone I deeply admired. He even helped me with my football boys’ injuries - mostly pro bono I think. A dear generous & kind man. He will be deeply missed.

My Family has been seeing Terry since he came to Strathmore. My brother became a Chiropractor and Terry continued to see my family for free as my brother was in another province. He always helped in any way he could. He was always happy and caring. He was an amazing sole and it is a devastating loss for this community. I am so very sorry for your loss Clare - He really was a unique gem.

Dr. Terry was very caring and wanted the best for his patients. He was generous with his knowledge and products he promoted for a healthier lifestyle. During his office visits he would often talk about his wife Clare and the story about horses she saw that needed rescued; as well as his mom and how well she was doing for her age. He talked about taking his dogs for walks at night and on the weekends as well as camping up at Interlakes campground in Kananaskis (a place I camped as a kid). You could tell how much he loved his wife, his mom and his dogs. It was such a shock to learn of Dr. Terry’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Clare and his mom.

Terry was a great doctor and friend to each of his patients. I sat in his waiting room many times over the years and admired how he remembered all of the hobbies and interests of all of his patients old and young. He did so much research into different treatments and general health practices and supplements and I felt privileged to try out many of his ideas which helped me out in many ways. Even in pain I don’t think I ever left his office without smiling or laughing, he was such a good guy. I have lots of good memories of him over the years and it’s heart breaking to lose him. I know a lot of people feel the same way. My sincere condolences to his wife and his family and his many friends.

Terry was someone that I looked up to when I was growing up. One memory of him was when he’d come to Saskatoon and buy the whole family supper. I enjoyed snowboarding with him and never could keep up. He was definitely the fasted on the hill at Sunshine Village with his snowboard set up. One of his favorite runs was on Goats eye where he would reach “terminal velocity” as he always said. I enjoyed all the advice and stories he had when we were together. Terry was ahead of his time in his knowledge, was very generous and whoever had the chance to meet him was lucky. We will all miss him. RIP cousin.

Our hearts are just broken by the news of Terry’s passing. I started seeing Terry when I skated, as a teenager. He was always there for you, even on days off. Terri was a wonderful man. He stuck by my husband Ike when everyones diagnosis was wrong and he was very sick. Terri continued looking more and more, trying different methods and tests and finally we had a diagnosis and Ike was able to go on with his life. I cant thank Terri enough. He never gave up! We will miss you so much Terri, I hope you died peacefully, our condolences to everyone who loved him!
